What's everyone up to today? I spent an hour and a half on the phone with my parents and work is going to be nuts tonight, so I'm trying to enjoy the day while I can.

Clearing trails and camp sites around the farm for an up coming end of summer party. Managed to mow around 3 miles of trails and a couple acres for camping. A sunset four wheeer ride with the wife and a beer is in order. 7 yrs married today.

Hopefully you have a riding mower and not a push mower. And congrats on the anniversary!

We had a minor mishap with the freezer that resulted in all our frozen food being lost. Fortunately we had a lot of old stuff in it we needed to get rid of. Just got back from the store, and now we’re back in business.
Now I’m just waiting for my partner to get home from work so we can go to the gym and get swole.

Thanks. Yes on the tractor. Had a few trees to chainsaw up and drag away also. I have only had the property for a year now. It’s long been neglected.

Pardon my curiosity; and if this question is out of bounds by all means tell me to sod off. Also I hope my total lack of animosity comes across as intended despite the inelegant wording.
Why partner and not boyfriend or husband or spouse?
I guess I assumed you had gotten married.
Again I apologize for any unintended ill-will.

I need to do a little office work today because tomorrow I’m flying to Rhode Island and back. I’m lazy though.

Good luck. Laziness is terrible but so nice at the same time.

Nah, it’s cool. We are married. He is my husband.
I still have this neurotic feeling about using the word ‘husband’ when talking to others , because a part of me worries about making people uncomfortable. O r worse, having them flip out on me. Nevermind that most people don’t care these days, that feeling is still there in my head . I’ve started to try to force myself to say it, because that is who he is to me and I feel a bit ashamed that there’s this part of me that has this fear.

Okay. Wasn’t sure if there was a preferred term that ‘your community’ - again my wording is crap but I’m not sure how else to present my questions - chooses to use, or if that would something specific to you two.
Basically I just want to know how best to interact with someone whom I know to be different than myself.
Congrats on getting married, whenever that happened. I hope our country will continue to allow anyone to experience the same ceremony regardless of whom they are.

Thank you, I really appreciate that!
We never had a wedding ceremony . We’ve been together since February of 2008. We went and got the license in May of 2015, right before the Supreme Court ruling. A lower court ruling had invalidated Colorado’s ban, and we figured we’d better get it while we had the chance to, in case they ruled against it.
